The Adventure of Doing Nothing
For a few, too brief days in May, my bff and I escaped the early desert heat and drove to the beach. We had booked a charming and cozy VRBO just 23 steps from the California coastline. We’d both had a rough few months and desperately needed a respite.
We are constantly ‘doing’ - whether at work or at home - and didn’t know if we could just ‘be still’. We both have an adventurous spirit and could we just sit on the beach (with sunscreen and a big floppy hat) and relax? Could we read, all day? Maybe take naps? Could we actually just… do nothing?
Turns out we could!
Our days were spent beach-combing, reading, napping, sitting on the adorable patio, snacking, painting, and just enjoying the peach and quiet. Our condo patio was our favorite spot; it was elevated off the street so we did lots of people-watching. Across the street was a salt marsh with the most beautiful views and trails.
Of course, I managed to get lots of photos and made the cutest little photo album of memories.
Our mini-vacation soon came to an end and we drove the very, very long way home to make it last a little longer.
