Top 5 Questions I receive about my School Photography Business

When I receive an inquiry from a new school, I always get asked the same questions. I thought I’d write a blog post and and answer those questions here.

#1. Do you offer packages and prints? What are your prices? Is there a cost to the school?

My answer: Yes, we offer both print and digital collections as well as a la carte prints. Our collections start as low as $17 and our a la carte prints start at $10. There is no cost to the school. Our income comes from the sales of the photos.

#2. Tell me your process.

My answer: (I’ll keep this reply short for the readers who are not school admins). My team and I offer a streamlined Picture Day experience, from start to finish. We handle everything from scheduling to delivery. We get certain data from the school, which helps us organize the student albums an organization on the back end. We come in on Picture Day and have a great time photographing the kids and staff. The password-protected galleries are available for viewing online. Parents purchase only what they want and online, so schools don’t have to handle the monies. We check all orders and deliver directly to the schools. We then deliver yearbook files to the school. We customize the Picture Day experience to fit the school’s needs.

#3. Do you offer yearbook services or ID’s?

My answer: I offer yearbook services for your Yearbook crew. I upload all yearbook photos (students, staff, and class photos) for you. The Yearbook crew has access to a wide variety of page templates to use. The school can even sell the yearbooks directly from the website. I can order the school ID’s for you as well.

#4. What is your turn-around for pictures?

My answer: I tell my schools the photos will be available for online viewing within 7-10 days. Most of the time, I am able to surprise them and have the galleries open within 72 hours.

#5. Do you give to the school?

My Answer: I give back to our schools in many ways. I give each staff member a free digital download of their photo ($25 pp value), and give staff parents 50% off their children’s photos. I also provide the PSPA yearbook files to the school ($450 value). Feel free to let me know if you have another need and I will see how we can accommodate it.
